The Collective Hair Spa honestly started the same way most dangerous ideas do… with hair talk that spiralled into “wait… why don’t we just do it ourselves?”
Shenay and Alexi met during a colour launch, bonding over curls, creative colour, salon horror stories and the shared frustration that the industry had started to feel a bit copy-paste. What was meant to be a casual conversation quickly turned into hours of “you’ve GOT to be joking, I was literally thinking the same thing.”
Same vision. Same vibe. Same dream salon. Even looking at similar spaces without realising.
A few drinks, a lot of chaotic brainstorming and one “stuff it, let’s do it” moment later… The Collective Hair Spa was born.
No corporate business plans. No polished investor meetings. Just two hairdressers with massive ideas, impulsive energy and enough confidence to back themselves completely.
The Collective was created to feel different from the second you walk in. High-end hair without the stuck-up salon energy. A space where blondes stay healthy, curls are actually understood, creative colour is encouraged and clients feel comfortable enough to laugh too loud, trauma dump halfway through their appointment or leave with a coffee in one hand and a whole new personality in the other.
At the end of the day, The Collective isn’t just about good hair. It’s about building a space that feels welcoming, creative, inclusive and real.
